1946 Chevrolet Fleetline Two-Door Aerosedan

Estimate:
$30,000-$40,000 US

90 hp, 216.5 cu. in. six-cylinder overhead valve engine, three-speed manual transmission, semi-elliptic leaf springs with shocks, and four-wheel drum brakes. Wheelbase: 116 in.

Following a post-war UAW strike, Chevrolet became the first GM division to resume production. New model names were introduced: the Master DeLuxe became the Stylemaster, while the Special DeLuxe was renamed the Fleetmaster. The Fleetline was available as a sedan or a two-door fastback, aptly named the aerosedan. As seen here, it is a beautiful flowing design laden with chrome and trim. This example received a body off restoration and took home an AACA First Place Senior Award in 1988. Since that day, it has been driven very sparingly and has accumulated light patina. The tan cloth upholstery and interior components remain outstanding, save for light staining on the headliner. The exterior shows a bit more age, yet the paint and brightwork need little to truly sparkle again. The engine bay and underside are virtually untouched and require only light detailing to make this car show worthy.
